FAQ's
(mostly from my other blog)

When did you start this journey of eating healthy?
I started to eat healthy on June 28, 2010.

What is your current weight and how long did it take you to get there?
I weigh about 148.9 lbs & have lost 104.6 lbs in 1 Year + 4 Months or so.

What Food Program do you follow?
I can't say I really follow a specific program.  It's really my own version of WW Core & a 12-step program! The reason I can't say it's a particular program is because I was having food allergies or something that was making me feel sick that was food related, so I started to research my symptoms.  I also started to write down what I was eating & when I was getting these reactions.  After a lot of research, I realized the negative affects both Flour & Sugar have on our bodies.  Jackpot!  I eliminated both items from my diet & no longer have episodes of what I was experiencing (hypoglycemia symptoms).

Can you give us an example of what you eat?
As I mentioned, I don't eat flour, of any kind, ever.  That doesn't mean I don't eat bread, pasta, tortillas, etc. because I do.  I just eat the kind without flour (or sugar).  I also don't eat sugar (including honey). I weigh and measure my food.  I try and eat the following at every meal: 4oz protein, 2-3cup veggies (not breakfast), 1-2 fats, 1oz grain (only twice a day max) & 1 fruit (a day).

In your "About" page, you mention that you got mental help.  What did you do?
Part of my journey, as I mention in my About Me page, was working on the mental aspects of eating clean & healthy as well as the physical.  I took a long hard look at myself & what I've tried in the past to lose weight & realized my approach was all wrong.  I just wanted to lose weight. It wasn't working. I realized I needed to find something or someone who would help me address WHY I was overweight. Do I eat emotionally?  Am I stress eater? Is it my metabolism?  I started to educate myself & started reading a lot about food & what it does to our bodies (I'll share these things another time).  I also spend a lot of time on weight loss forums for encouragement & tips.  A favorite is Weight Watchers!

What are your statistics?
I'm a 30ish years old, 5'-4" tall, 148.9 lbs & a size 12 (M/L) tight 10.  I'm an apple shape & tend to carry my weight evenly (maybe a tad more in the tummy).

What do you do for exercise?
When I decided to change my life back in June 2010, I also decided that I wasn't going to go overboard on an exercise regimen.  In the past, I've gone on a diet & exercise program.  It wasn't working for me or I wasn't working for it.  With that said, my first 70lbs of weight loss, I walked (at a comfortable pace) a couple times a week for no more than an hour.  As of week 32 (+70lbs loss), I decided it was time to pick up the pace and I started the Couch to 5k (C25k) program*.  I have now graduated.  I also play competitive Soccer once a week. I need to do some weight lifting in the near future!

How long have you been at your goal weight?
I haven't reached it yet, I don't think!
I say, "I don't think" because this is not a diet to me.  I eat healthy and will do so for the rest of my life.  My body will release what it will....

I just found your blog via some outfits you posted on Pinterest (or were tagged for your site) and you are definitely motivating me to do my own changes. I know I need to eat healthier, although I've been working on it for awhile, and my biggest issue is my need to exercise. I don't do it. I used to, but I need to up it a lot. I'm almost as big as you used to be when you started and once I saw that number at the doctor's office I almost cried. What did I do to myself?! How could I let it happen?! But I did and for whatever reason, it still kind of continues. But I love your blog and how you've posted your weights, pictures (which totally help!) and your sizes. I just need to think about this EVERY SINGLE DAY! But if I could get to 160 like you are, I'd be soooooo happy!

Congrats on your weight loss! I took the 90 Day Body By Vi challenge last year and lost 30 lbs and down 4 clothing sizes. I had some health problems based on my weight and new I need to make a change for me and my kids. My doctor have approved the product. I have kept it off for a a year and I just recently started another 90 Day challenge to loose the last 20 to reach my goal. www.challengeorlando.com I felt like a new women and going shopping for clothes was actually fun. I am shopping in stores I never step foot in because their sizes stopped at 12.
